Sidecar Rally China is an adventurous way to drive a CJ 750 (copy of the BMW R71 from 1938) around China and a Homage to Chinas greatest Motorcycle for 50 Years, the Changjiang 750 cc. (See ¡°The Bikes¡±)
This Rally is about endurance and the Challenge to make it through -Mountains, -Forests, -Deserts, -High Plateaus on an Overland Ride with a Vintage Motorbike. The Rally starts and ends each month from different places. (See ¡°The Stages¡±)
The Sidecar Rally on CJ 750¡äs started January 2010 in Shanghai and will go to the South-West of China, to Yunnan, then the West of China, -Tibet and from there to Central China and finally to the southern Island of Hainan in Winter. (See ¡°The Stages¡±)
The starting Locations and the Destination are fixed. These are Cities with an Airport, so that the Riders, which join a Stage, can fly in and out.
While riding to a Destination, everything is kept flexible and sometimes Hotels, or Camping, and Food needs to be improvised.
This keep it different from a 100 % organised and planned Tour. Navigation and Routes will be done together and kept influenced by the riding Team.
The Team leaders from ¡°Sidecar Rally China¡± have long experience with riding Sidecar in China. They are Foreigners living long time in China. They speak Chinese and know how to repair a ¡°Chang¡±.
Everybody who have a chinese ¡°D¡± drivers License (License for Motorbikes with Sidecar) can join the Rally as a driver. People with no Chinese License can join as a Passenger in the Sidecar.
Riders with a Motorbike License in their Home Country can get a temporary License in Chengdu or Lhasa within a working Day and then join a Stage. (More Info about how to get a Chinese License on request.)
You can be a driver on the Rally Bikes (See ¡°The Bikes¡±) or sign in with your own Bike.
Transportation to and from the Destination can be organised. |
